The Beatles “Norwegian Wood”
I once had a girl, or should I say… she once had me.
After “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away,” this is probably my favorite Beatles song. At the young age that I was discovering this band, I thought I knew all of their songs, and then someone put this on. On vinyl. With the cracks and the warmth. And I had a weird experience during the song, exterior to the music, but the music became a part of it, fitting into the warm cracks perfectly. So I always remember this song fondly, in a odd sitar-y haze of fond remembrance.
